Zipline Adventure attraction Treetop Trekking Miami has opened at Jungle Island. Located at 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail, the attraction is the Tree Trekking Group’s first location in South Florida. It joins 15 others operated throughout the U.S. including Daytona Beach, and Canada.
“After completing one of our adventure courses, a student will have accomplished something and pushed their limits,” said Jean-Francois Couture, chief marketing officer of the Canadian-based company.
Treetop Trekking Miami patrons will get experience balancing bridges, Tarzan Swings, swinging logs, cable crossings and zip lines that are suspended off the ground from three to 55 feet depending on the course.
The attraction, which employs 7 people, offers adults and kids three options, the Explorer Trek Course, the Thrill Seeker Trek for ages 9 and older, and the Discovery Course for ages 5 and older. It allows about 20 to 30 people per hour in each activity.
“This type of customers we have aren’t just families,” Marketing Director Mark Stiell said. “We also have corporate groups come in for team building experiences.”
Treetop Trekking is the latest attraction launched at Jungle Island, an eco-adventure park on what’s owned by Aventura-based EST Capital Partners.
Once known as Parrot Jungle, the park’s attractions, animal exhibits and botanical garden are undergoing a series of major renovations. The revamp will also add 12,000 square-feet to its existing event space and expand parking. Jungle Island will also welcome a 300-room hotel approved by voters in 2018 and endorsed by Miami City Commissioners in March 2021.
