Sunshine, ocean views and construction cranes: You’d been surprised to pass a day in Miami without seeing at least two of them. And the construction cranes are the result of the prior. It’s the sunshine and ocean views that turned Miami into one of the country’s most popular cities to visit, live, work and party. And the millions of people drawn here need places to spend the night.
And while this interest in Miami is nothing new, the number of new and coming-soon hotels would suggest the place is growing.
Among those hotels there is, unsurprisingly in this city, a tilt towards the high-end, several openings from luxury hotel brands on the horizon.
Most notable is Aman Miami Beach, which is set to open a 56-suite beachfront hotel, a low-rise tower of branded residences and an outpost of members-only Aman Club in the Faena District in 2024. Shortly after, in 2025, monied fashion brand, Bvlgari, is slated to debut its first US hotel in a revamped 1950 building in Miami Beach’s Art Deco Historic District. Also in 2025, and slightly more affordable by comparison, will be the huge 800-room Grand Hyatt at the Miami Beach Convention Center, and the long-delayed Virgin Hotels Miami, whose 40-story, new-from-the-ground-up building will house 250 rooms, a three-story terraced rooftop with a pool, and 15 floors of residential units.
